Quick update on my fuel tank/pump leak....just installed the new O-ring seal and no leaks after 1 hour of sitting....of course the other one didn't leak until almost a week later....we'll see I guess. Anyways, here's the O-ring I bought,

http://www.mcmaster.com/#9262k394/=64d5m4

its a 87mm ID and 97mm OD. You can see how its different then the stock R6 fuel pump tank seal in the pic below...hopefully because the cross-section is solid round (not a C shape like the R6 seal) it will seal better. :D

Man what a great build. I am totally interested in fuel injecting a 660 motor with +1mm overbore so a 683cc motor. I think it would be great. But you seem like you have a ton of know how and it has taken you 3 years to do it. That kind of scares me off from the idea!

But the 660 motor has FZR bottom end and a YZF600 head so all the EFI parts should work exactly the same as yours I think.

If you could do it all again do you think you would? I am tempted to try but I would probably try to do it in the $500 range.

While it would not be an overnight deal, I think Diztroy has had a lot on his plate. he's also tossing a turbo into the mix too. A FZR crank mod probably wouldn't take but a blink compared to what goes into getting the bike fuel injected, so doing both wouldn't be a hard job. I've flirted with the idea of doing the FZR crank and that british big bored kit to my bike, potentially combined with ram air and/or FI.

Yeah, like wjm said, the last 3 years have been pretty busy for me....finishing my Masters degree/thesis, moving across the county starting a new job, buying a house etc. plus I've got 6 other motorcycles and 12ish other cars, so sometimes projects get put on the back burner depending on what else I'm working on. For instance I just swapped a turbo diesel in my 1984 diesel rabbit....it should have been a weekend job, but it took me a while to source the parts. The EFI wasn't much different....most of the time was spent researching what would work with what. After I had the parts fabricated/modified/collected it only took a weekend or two to actually install them and get the bike running. If you use what I did as a "recipe" you could get it done much faster, depending on your budget. I was a college student when I started it so thats also why it took sometime.

Yeah, all the EFI parts will work just fine with the FZR crank swap....the only difference is how the FZR crank's ignition signal works, but that just a matter of using the FZR ICU or making the megasquirt read it....I'm working on the latter.

Not only would I do it again, but I will DEFINITELY do it again!!! I'm not sure if I'll do another motorcycle next (probably my YZF750) or a car/truck, but yeah, I LOVE EFI....I just like the technology. I don't know if its really worth all the extra effort over a good set of properly tuned carbs, but thats not why I did it, it was just for fun and to prove to myself that I could. :D

Wow thanks for the feedback. I think I will start collecting the parts over this season and then try to tackle it this winter. But I think I have much research to do yet.

I just finished university so I won't have too much $$ to throw at it.

No I think he prefers porsche and VW. Diztroy just doesn't seem like a ford guy to me.
